A local charity is parking up at Motor Mall again this month offering islanders another chance to pick up a bargain!
Age Concern will be back with their ‘pop up shop’ from 10am until 3pm on Saturday 19th June, selling all sorts from clothing and bric-a-brac to toys and books.
Motor Mall’s Sales Manager Simon Williams said, “COVID has affected all our local charities’ fundraising efforts over the last year or so and Age Concern has provided a real lifeline for Jersey’s elderly during these difficult times. The charity relies totally on the generosity of islanders to support its work and we’re delighted to provide them with another opportunity to raise vital funds. Their last pop-up was a huge success back in March and we hope their second visit will draw the crowds again.”
Trudi Gallichan Office Manager at Age Concern Jersey commented “Age Concern are really happy to have been invited back to Motor Mall again this June especially after the success of our first visit in March. We are happy to say that this initiative that was started in March has been well received by everyone we have met, so we hope it will continue as this enables us to connect with the community especially the elderly that we would not normally be able to, we are also there for any advice anyone may require. Motor Mall are great supporters of Age Concern for which we are very grateful”
Age Concern Jersey supports the elderly and campaigns on their behalf. The charity has clear vision - that there should be no ageism, age should be recognised as a gift not a burden and that older people should be given respect and courtesy.
